EcoHitch for 2013-2014 BMW X5 and 2014 BMW X3 are equipped with removable receiver adapters as shown in the image above.  When you aren’t using EcoHitch, simply remove an easily accessible pin and bolt, and the receiver adapter comes right off – no tools are required.  With the receiver adapter removed the cross bar of the hitch is completely concealed behind the bumper.

When the receiver adapter is installed it fits as snugly to the underside of the bumper as possible for a discreet factory appearance. The ground clearance of your BMW is not negatively impacted.
